Description
The CD4026 Decade Counter/Divider IC is a CMOS-based integrated circuit designed specifically for driving 7-segment displays. It combines a Johnson decade counter with a decoded 7-segment driver, enabling direct interfacing with 7-segment displays without the need for additional decoding circuitry. This makes it ideal for applications requiring numerical counting and display, such as clocks, frequency counters, and digital meters.
The IC operates over a wide voltage range (3V to 18V) and features a clock input, carry-out for cascading multiple ICs, and reset functionality for initializing the count. With its compact DIP-16 package, the CD4026 is easy to implement in both breadboard and PCB-based projects.
