System Components

• NodeMCU: Central control unit that processes data from sensors and sends alerts when needed.

Working Principle

The Smart Dustbin operates using an IR sensor and ultrasonic sensor to automatically open the lid and monitor the waste level. When the bin reaches full capacity, it alerts users and ensures efficient waste management.

• Automatic Lid Opening: The IR sensor detects nearby objects and signals the NodeMCU to activate the servo motor, opening the dustbin lid automatically.
• Fill Level Monitoring: The ultrasonic sensor measures the waste level by detecting the distance to the top of the waste, and the IR sensor ensures accurate fill-level monitoring.
• Data Processing: The NodeMCU processes sensor data to monitor the bin’s capacity. If it’s nearly full, it triggers alerts to notify users..
