Description
The 1-meter long waterproof digital temperature sensor probe, based on the DS18B20 sensor, is ideal for measuring temperature in distant or wet environments. Its sealed, pre-wired design makes it convenient for challenging conditions. As a digital sensor, it avoids signal degradation over long distances and offers high precision, with accuracy of ±0.5°C over much of its range, and up to 12 bits of resolution from the onboard digital-to-analog converter. These sensors work with any microcontroller using a single digital pin, and multiple sensors can be connected to the same pin, each identified by a unique 64-bit ID burned in at the factory. They are compatible with 3.0V to 5.0V systems. However, the sensor uses the Dallas 1-Wire protocol, which is relatively complex and requires additional code to parse the communication. When using this sensor with a microcontroller, a 4.7k resistor is necessary as a pull-up from the DATA to VCC line.
