The MAX30100 is an integrated solution for pulse oximetry and heart rate monitoring, designed to provide accurate measurements in a compact form factor. This sensor combines two LEDs, a photodetector, optimized optics, and low-noise analog signal processing to effectively detect pulse oximetry and heart rate signals. It operates on power supplies ranging from 1.8V to 3.3V and can be powered down through software, allowing for negligible standby current while keeping the power supply connected at all times.
Key features include an optical sensor with infrared and red LEDs paired with a photodetector to measure the absorbance of pulsing blood, an I2C interface, and an integrated pin for easy connectivity. The sensor boasts several benefits, such as resilience to motion artifacts and ambient light cancellation, along with ready-to-use examples that save development time. It is also supported across all MikroElektronika compilers, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
